In Acropora, the complex canals in a coral colony connect all polyps to holistic network, enabling them collaborate performing biological processes. There are various types of canals, including calice, axial and other internal with structures that dynamically altered during different growth states due calcium transport. this study, we investigated morphological changes corallite six Acropora muricata samples by high resolution micro-computed tomography, observing patterns carbonate deposition within processes new branch formation truncated tip repair. We visualized from calice canal. Furthermore, diameter volume canal branches rebuilding were calculated, revealing ratio calcareous deposits exhibit significant increases first three weeks, returning levels initial state following week. This work demonstrates can be stored temporarily then remobilized as needed for rapid growth. The results study shed light on control Acropora.
